Deal or No Deal – This week the Penny Fairy check’s out a garden compost deal currently running at Homebase. Is it really a good deal, or a clever marketing trick?? Let’s have a look….
The Deal in Detail
They have 2 different types of compost in the deal, both 40L bags. Brands on offer are J Arthur Bowers and Gro Sure. So what’s the deal?
40L bag is usually priced at £2.50 each, but if you currently by 5 bags you are in effect getting one free, as they are selling 5 bags for £10!
That equates to 200L of compost for £10.
So here’s the ‘catch’ (or money saving tip)…. you need to buy in store by 11th April 2018, as offer is not available online.
How does this compare to their larger bags? Good the 120L is £6.95, and the 60L is £3.98. So to summarise if you are need of some compost to start off your veggie patch or to fill your planters for your summer perennials, stock up quickly!
What can I say……sorry for the silence! The last couple of months have been manic at Fairy HQ, but the magic dust has settled and the Penny Fairy is back to bring you all the latest hints, tips, money saving deals and guides to make your life just that little bit easier.
On the plus side for the recent ssshhhh, a house move has taken place and so has provided a major insight into what to do and NOT to do (in some cases), as well as fuelling lots of ideas for future blogs, tips and money guides.
So let’s raise our glasses to the hopefully impending summer weather, breathe a sigh of relief that the Penny Fairy is back whizzing around online and get ready to enjoy what this site is going to bring to your life in the coming months!
Did you know….
John Lewis have a price promise, so don’t be afraid to use it! The Penny Fairy has taken the below extract straight from their website to explain all:
‘If the words Never Knowingly Undersold seem a little old-fashioned, that’s because they were written in 1925. They’ve remained unchanged ever since, and so has their meaning.’
Yes you read that right, since 1925! How many opportunities have you missed to execute this fabulous promise?? Well you won’t miss the opportunity again now that you know. Full details are available on a dedicated page on their website, so they are not even trying to hide this promise!
What a great company, putting their customers first.
Well done John Lewis!
